Seeking therapy is an important step towards bettering one’s mental health. Life can bring stress and anxiety and counseling offers a safe space for one to develop coping strategies, gain insights, and share feelings. Dr. Denise Lenares-Solomon views therapy sessions as a collaborative environment that is goal-focused and confidential. Dr. Lenares-Solomon continuously works on creating a non-judgmental atmosphere that is key in encouraging honest and open conversations as this ensures trust and privacy in the counseling relationship.
As a counselor, she has worked with clients from ages 5 to 85. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in Rogerian therapy which means that she believes that people are naturally motivated towards achieving healthy mental health. Some populations she has worked with include individuals experiencing personal and/or work relationship conflicts, anxiety, depression, school, college and career issues, and motivational struggles.
